Prevention and Intervention of Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying in New Jersey School Districts
Is your school located in New Jersey? If so, the laws in your state require that your district hire one of the following: Anti-Bullying Coordinator (District), Anti-Bullying Specialist (School) and a School Safety Team (School).
As a school in New Jersey, you must also participate in the Week of Respect. What will your school this year? Consider bringing in one of the funniest bullying speaker in the country, Fabian Ramirez. Keep in mind, the Week of Respect in New Jersey Schools occurs every year during the first week of October. It’s also Fabian’s busiest time of the year so please contact Fabian’s team to ask about rates so you can book early and get date your school wants on his calendar.
The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (P.K.2010, c.122) requires that the week beginning with the first Monday in October of each year be designated as the Week of Respect in New Jersey. School districts observe this week by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing/remediating harassment, intimidation, and/or bullying.
School Assemblies
Last year, Fabian was the school assembly speaker during the week of respect at Bergendfield High School in New Jersey. As a result, the students loved his message and raved about his comedy. The school provided the following notes and Fabian took it from there:
#1 MESSAGE GOAL: The main message/goal is to relay how to be leaders and to make great choices and to be more tolerant when associating with other students and staff and family. Reminder that this is Week of Respect mandated by the state of NJ.
Maybe your school is researching anti-bullying speakers for your next school assembly. We know exactly how to help you and your school. We work with hundreds of schools and student conferences throughout the year and bottom line, we want to make your next event a success. Your students will love Fabian. His message will challenge them to live out the message throughout the school year.
